Pierburg Carb Vapour Canister
The vapour canister on the carburettor appears to be blocked. Anyone know where I can get a replacement ?

It's a plastic thing sits beside the carb, has pipes from fuel pump, fuel tank vent and a fuel pipe to the carb. I didn't know what is was called until I looked at the Pierburg wiki.

Must be a Syncro thing, but all carb Sciroccos have them. Usually referred to as a "swirl pot".

Re: Pierburg Carb Vapour Canister
In the wiki I didn't spot the link to the Gower and Lee website before
. I've ask them if they have a swirl pot. I do suspect that I have the plumbing wrong, although it' s been fine until now. I've tested it, bypassing and going straight to the carb. Anyone know which pipe goes to top, middle and bottom.

Re: Pierburg Carb Vapour Canister
From what I remember when I last "played" with the Scirocco one, bottom = feed from pump, middle = feed to carb, top = return to tank.
Oh, hang on, let me look in my Haynes for the Rocco...
OK, checked, the above is correct

Re: Pierburg Carb Vapour Canister
btw, as far as I know, a swirl pot has nowt in it (except maybe a course baffle or two), so any blockage is likely to only be in one of the stubs, or external, and easy to do a "blow down it test" too

Thanks ghost123uk. I think the pump is on the middle
, will check this morning (a weekend without rain
) , do some re plumbing if necessary and test. I'll let you know. I'm getting this problem sorted before selling.

Re: Pierburg Carb Vapour Canister
I've taken off the swirl pot and blew through the bottom hole which didn't give any resistance. Blew through the middle where it did give some resistance and I can hear some kind of valve operating. So I connected up as bottom to pump out , middle to a container , and sure enough the fuel came through when turned over
. Can't imagine why I was getting away with it all this time without problems till now. Thanks for your help ghost123uk.
