gear fluid

can anyone help me by telling me where the gear fluid goes? a friend said i might need
gear fluid but i havent a clue where it goes :roll:

Assume that you mean the 'gearbox' oil?
Also assuming you have a manual (not automatic) gearbox?

As always - make sure that the fill plug can be removed before you remove the drain plug otherwise you'll be in all sorts of trouble trying to refill it!

Is there a reason that you think that you need new oil?

Sounds like you are doing this for the first time...so I would advice that you drain and refill with new oil and not just top-up. The gearbox oil has been in there some 25 years plus, get it changed!
The bungs are an internal hex 17mm so you will require one of these.

Plus about 4litres of GL4 gear oil (until it dribbles from the filler hole)
