Westie joker question. pictures added!

The Mosaik kits were marketed as Jokers, and apparently some of them were installed into RHD vans so it may be that the owner has some cause for believing it to be genuine:

The problem I think is with who did the installation - if it was a UK dealer who put it together from a Mosaik kit with a non-standard pop-top then it might be a reasonable job, but it could easily be a homebrew install using the interior stripped from another van. If you are thinking of buying take care to look over everything, and price accordingly. Check the buying guide on the wiki here (link top left of screen) and the Westfalia buying guide at:

This would be the M code number to confirm A westy rhd-i doubt i will find these numbers tbh, but they are

256 = Caravelle, Vanagon, Westfalia etc; RHD

Quick update.

Spoke to the owner earlier and i am test driving it monday.
it is a mozaic conversion with he thinks bilbo roof he has all receipts for og conversion £5k job back in the day.he says i can see it all on monday and take pics.

It's not a joker - someone in this chain is though. They are Lhd, and the roof is wrong. End of the day though if you like it and its good buy it I guess but if they have lied about stuff I'd always question why and what else isn't as it seems

I think the mechanic may have got the wrong end of the stick, the owner has told me roughly what this thread has so i'm happy he isn't lying, but i take your point re being carful, thanks

Engine pulls like a train - no smoke no Rattles .

Pop top glides up one handed - curtains and all sundrys stored away but there.

189000 on the clock, cowell needs to go back on the column and there are a few little bits like handles missing on the interior - question is what conversion and roof is it

It definately looks like a 'Bilbo' conversion to me, send them a copy of the picture and they may confirm it. Looks good though.

The van does look good it caught my eye.

The roof looks like a Devon roof my old t25 had a similar one older shape but very similar in lots of other way, i could be wrong?

The interior is very welll laid out i must confess i didn't realise Bilbo did t25 conversions especially rhd so i am guessing it is a custom conversion done in the uk by some uk confirm based on a uk van.

The engine - although covered in dust looks complete with no obvious signs of bodges other than a breather pipe which has been patched up recently, i never took much notice of the number i just presumed it was a sx - it never smoked or rattled started on the button, i drive trucks so have a reasonable knowledge of the way a diesel engine should feel and know a well looked after one and fingers crossed my gut instinct is right on this lump?.

I like the van as a better camping travelling tool and i know it will probably be easier to maintain than my 72 Westy but parting with the bay and all her oddity's will be a wrench
