Instrument cluster replacement

Post by Garry »

Hello everyone, looking for some advise.

I have a 1990 petrol DG engine T25 camper, and I am looking for a replacement instrument cluster due to damage to the plastic housing, which I am going to try to temporarily fix, whilst sourcing a replacement.

My question is I noted that my cluster has a sticker with 3 part numbers on it, to get another one that I can simply swap over do I need to match all 3 part numbers or simply get one that has the same dials? ( I have the analogue clock with temp & fuel gauge)

Many thanks

Garry

ideally you'd match the numbers but there are slight variations that might not matter
basically you are looking foir a petrol analogue clock set 1986MY on, but you could fit a non clock or a rev counter dash, as long as they are petrol and post 1986MY
I have a spare clockset (no speedo) I think it's analogue clock I'll check

Hi Aidan

Many thanks for the info, would be interested in what clock set you have as my speedo works fine, its just the housing that's the problem.

Just checked ETOS and it lists the following available for £79.94+vat (ETKA may say differently but I don't have that)

251-919-053
instrument housing with
adjusting knob for clock and
opening for trip recorder
restting knob

Hi

Does that mean I should be able to order a new Housing via my local VW main deal?

Many thanks

No link. It's a desktop program.

ring a vw commercial dealer and ask on the availability of the part

251-919-053 is a housing without the hole for the digital clock.

I expect ETOS to be wrong and the part to be obsolete though
