you wait for an answer that means less effort. you are not saving a penny, you are being led by what you want to hear.... the rolling road in question will rejet your carbs as part of the process and I doubt very much that they told you replace/ rebuild them, a single worn or partially blocked jet could be causing your issue. you think everyone is out to have your pants down, so what if you go to the rolling road and your carbs are u/s they will know within 20mins, so £50 to know for definite, spend £350+ on carbs and carry on with this useless twaddle.
what we know is the timing is fine? the cam is a tooth out? the carbs are worn out? what next!!!!!! a worn push rod on the fuel pump? a length of fuel hose too small a diameter? a bend in the carb linkage? a badly adjusted accelerator cable? the wrong accelerator cable fitted? a kink in the accelerator cable? the hand brake dragging? the brakes binding 1 of 4 or any number of 4? wrong size wheels? wrong size tyres? wrong gearbox fitted? have you checked the engine code? all of these things will be apparent to an expert the one I recommended earlier, who take part in regular tune up days for the split screen van club, and would welcome a day organised by your good self for all the a/c t25s within say 50 miles of you that are members of the club( you'd have to join the club though, but it might be expensive with all the hidden charges). do you really think they would risk their reputation by having a goon from north london over.

E D I T... I have been a member of the split screen van club for 14yrs and in all that time I have never heard of them telling anyone to replace carbs, they have said bring it down and we'll find out what is wrong with it. if you read the link you would have noticed the poorly bug that was running on two that they got to bottom of.
