Mines hopefully getting agreed for £17,000, well worth doing for the above reasons. It's just unfortunate that glynwoods have gone up by £100 for the Last two years. Flux have got it down to the original price glynwoods were with exactly the same perks. The agreed value part of the insurance is only £15

That didn't work for my parents Mercedes when my Dad was hit head on. To replace their car, in the spec they had would have been near £12k, the insurance co gave them £8k. My Dad asked them to replace the car like for like rather they accept the £8k, they declined.

How far did he push it? If your dads blameless why do the insurance have a right to call the shots?

it's the same with my doka. it's insured as for commercial and domestic use as i use it for work. i have asked several insurance companies about an agreed valuation and was told that it was not available for commercial policys, however instead of agreed value i have market value written in to my policy documents. which i find somehow comforting.

also i hind with insurance companies you will always have a fight in the event of a clame, it's your right they will always try and pay out as little as possible.

My Dad's pretty savvy, he pushed and pushed, but at the end of the day they wouldn't budge.

The other guy got convicted of dangerous driving or the like. He was over taking in the dark, going down a hill with a solid white line central road marking.

Some quite good info here if you disagree with an insurance company about their settlement figure;

But the small print is on the other cars policy...so how are you going to read it beforehand?

But you have only agreed the value with your insurer....not the one paying! So I guess in that case your insurer would pressure the other one on your behalf to pay the agreed with them value...

I'll place a £10 bet that if you ever have to claim they don't pay out the agreed value.

My most hated people on the planet are insurance companies, absolute scum of the earth with tongues of snakes. I never believe a word they say. Lies fall from thier mouths like the oozing from a warm egg sandwich.

Luckily mine doesn't and I have had to send a confirmation letter to say I will only drive it on public highway. Luckily when they said they would insure my West Syncro (agreed value £15,500) 4x4 Campervan they haven't stopped me from camping and cooking in it.

The insurance ombudsman are the people with the final call.....RE off roading....is a byway off road? Is a car park at the county show offroad?....you would of needed more than mud tyres to get out of the car park some years!

If you have mud tyres on but crash on Tarmac is that coverered?

If you slide off a hill side and roll...but bolt set of 3 mm deep nankangs on while the vans upside down alls well?
