Its the Subaru EJ22
It had top off rebuild by Spannerboy,
with new gaskets belts and whatever else to freshen it up.
I chose that motor as it is supposed to be the most bulletproof,
its much faster than the 2.1 MV that it came with,
and the torque range means less than half the gear changes too,
it sounds absolutely brilliant, and powers a massive drivers grin.
The reliability is what I wanted, along with good economy.
It really feels like it doubled the power and doubled the mpg.
Initially the mpg was only a bit better,
because for some reason the throttle kept hitting the floor..
the delight of the sound and torque, brings out the boy racer,
grown up a bit now and at least half the time can relax and listen to the burble.

It fits like it was made for it,
looks clean and spacious with easy access to everything.
The only drawback has been the cost, in my time and money,
I guess Subaru is probably the most expensive engine conversion.

Showing off its charging exemption in the West End.
Is that a red light?

May put some photos together with a spec list,
print cards to place in phone boxes,
and see what responses I get.

Suppose I am looking for expressions of interest around 8k for now,
any offers considered.
My preference would be for a discreet transaction,
simply because I dont want to be getting all emotional about it.

My guess is its for someone here,
Someone who knows, and wants it.

As I imagined, it was someone who was reading this good buy syncro thread,
this community is great.

He is a long time SA Caravelle owner but new to Syncros I think.
Sorry to the disappointed buyers who missed out, it was snapped up unseen.
Although it was easy for him to check in with SyncroSpares who know it well,
and I believe it will be fettled a bit there before he collects it.

I am off to pick up my new one asap.
