Protecting wheel arches

Post by OddJobBob »

My wheel arches are in need of a good coat of something or other. I have recently used Dinitrol 3125 spray to do the inside of my tailgate and it seems like good stuff. I am considering getting some Dinitrol 4941. Does anyone know if I can brush it on? I know they do an aerosol but I think it might be easier to brush on. Anyone know or have any better suggestions?

Thanks

I did - vactan, red oxide, soudaflex, rustoleum. Hoping it works but I will only probably know in a few years (if I ever get the van on the road) Jon.

Thanks for the response. I suppose that means going back to bare metal! I was hoping to just coat the current coating, whatever it is, which I have thoroughly cleaned.

I used that method on the new arch that was constructed. On my existing arches, I have started to remove the original VW under seal using a hot air gun and scraper. I figured there could be small gaps in it that may let water in so best to get rid and start again. Jon.
