Who has tested their low coolant warning sensor ?

Nope, but a mucky sensor sometimes will flash the warning LED even though there is plenty of coolant and then start to behave itself when the coolant gets warm (warm water conducts electricity better than cold)

How many times or for how many seconds does the self check flash again when the ignition key is turned?

It flashes many times in 3 seconds or it flashes only 3 times?

My coolant sensor "relay" has got number 42 on it, also?

When I pull out the cable, it' takes around 15 secs before it flashes.

That all sounds correct, including relay 42 which is the same basically as the other type. By the way it is not a relay but a quite complicated little circuit in there.

You could possibly be making a visit to your local A&E with bad scalding.If you were to do that.Methinks


I take it you don't need to run the van up to temp before removing the sensor?

I am hoping he meant remove the sensor plug, as in testing the system is working :ok

It flashes many times quickly maybe 5 times per second? And stay flashing for about 4 seconds.
