E D I T: Just checked, its gone up ! Still pretty cheap though.

I've found this

http://www.smithandallan.com/prodpage.a ... IQgwgwBDhG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Which for 5ltrs isn't bad.

Awesome I looked on wiki n says 75w/90 but maybe that's for 2wd?
Even cheaper

now I don't want to start a mass debate here but.....the diffs are hypoid offset, and "was" original spec in our boxes it may of been but could the synthetics offer less drag and better shifting on cold mornings combined with reduced wear and grunge build up I wonder?

Regognise the 20 liter drums Andy? look like the stuff vw is flogging and I suspected it was a GB oils product, I'm sure the 5 liter tubs are millers.

I've read on wiki

To get 75w/90 then it says for front diff 80w/90

Which one do I need and do I have to put gearbox oil in the diff as well as gear box?
Would 5ltrs be enough to do this?

Whatever you put in the back is fine in the front too, it's the same parts up front just less of them, 5 litres is not quite enough but in fact its not possible to drain the rear box fully so might just do it...I think it's 1.5 front and 4 rear...will check that in a mo.

Im more concerned with the hypoid thing myself than the grade but 75 / 90 or 80 / 90 is virtually the same....we need an oil expert! I'm tempted to go with a synthetic to try and solve the cold weather syncro blocking on 1st and 2nd gear...but only when I'm sure my crown wheel won't be harmed.

Any oil experts about?

Need a cam belt
I have an aaz 1.9 tD engine. My van is 1992 but I'm not sure what the age the engine is.
Would it be an early cam belt kit that I need?

You sure the 80.90 oil says hypoid? I can't see it!

AAZ is a 1.9....there is a metal tensioner with a m10 stud for early..or self adjusting plastic with a m8 for late..

But I don't know if it's and early or late kit that I need.

Yeh the 80w/90 is £16.50 for 5ltrs on wilco website.

You just need to look at the one fitted....if its plastic it's a late one. That's the only way to find out!

Yes....with regard to the oil...I think Andy is referring to Wilkos...not Wilcos! It's 1 liter bottles of comma stuff at £3.50

It's wilcodirect.co.uk I got the 5ltr amount at £16.50
So £1 cheaper than buying x5 every penny/pound counts:)

nice Fixie :P
What cariers? do i miss the Link here? :run

B.T.W. what is a oramge?

E D I T: There is a link now :ok

It will only fit with a special bracket ore directly mounted on the rear door. Thats why everyone really like the OEM VW spare-wheel carrier...
