1982 ..1 .6cs diesel - cooling issues and any advice gratefully recieved.....
For the second time in 2 weeks I have popped the coolant hose in the engine bay that connects the front to back pipe (the one from the "top" of the thermostat housing) to the plastic pipe to the rad. It is forced off and dumps the coolant

Have reconnected it again today ...and put the jubliee clip on the metal joint before the olive rather than on the plastic pipe -= which seems to make sense to me.
I intend to flush the rad tonightby running a hose through both pipes to and from it - to see if its a blocked radiator - if it happens again remove the thermostat to see if thats faulty.
The in pipe at the rad end of the system never seem to get hot.... Guess that may be a clue ?
But both pipes get toasty warm (to and from the rad) in the engine bay for a couple of feet
No oli in water or vice versa
Any tips on tracing the problem would be very welcome
Thanks !
