alternator bracket

Post by jeffdub »

just went to change my alternator for a 90 amp one when i realised its not a straight swap , the housing on the 90amp one that connects the alternator to the adjusting bracket is thicker so it doesnt line up anyone had this before ? the alternator is off a 2.1 but i was told it would fit :?:

You could try removing some material from the alt depending on where it conflicts.

Could you space the bracket in / out with a couple of washers between bracket and mounting lug ? (iirc my van has washers there to make it line up, can't check as van has been away for months now getting a body restoration job)

Will it not physically fit or pulley wheel out of line? If latter, you did swap wheels I presume?
