Rear Brake Line Nut

Just giving the rear brakes a well overdue seeing to. New drums, shoes, fitting kit and cylinders. I didn't plan on replacing brake lines, but due to the corrosion on the union to the back of the cylinder and the bending of the line trying to get the nut off, I decided it was best!

Anyway, this leads me to my question. Does it matter if the new nut (3/16 M10 x 1mm short male) is threaded all the way down and the old one isn't? I have tried the new nut in both the connection to the flexi-hose and to the new cylinder and it seams to fit in both fine, but this is without the single bubble flare on the end.

once the flare is ion the end of the pipe it should be fine

I hope that you will pay more attention to cleanliness whilst working on the brake system - that new union is covered in crud!

No difference apart from the lead helps locate and start the thread/helps as a guide. Otherwise good to go.

Note* be careful not to get the top shoe return springs upside down as they will interfere with the brake adjuster.
Slacken off hand brake cable before adjusting the shoes to the new drums, re-adjust the cable adfter correct shoes adjustment is attained.
