Re: wiring up a new engine
hi
you need to say what engine you have (fuel and code)...and details about your van would help too.
(your question may get more responses in the technical section)
hope you get it sorted.

Re: wiring up a new engine
There's a wiki icon at the top of the page ^^ Buy a Haynes manual unless it's a d****l. What engine ? What fuel ? what age engine ? Which oil pressure system ? (85 is a cross-over year). Where are you in the country ? etc etc
Welcome to the forum btw.

Re: wiring up a new engine
Hi, for detailed wiring diagrams the Bently manual is your best bet as its pretty much the original VW literature. There is an electronic copy available, possibly up in the WIKI. Hard copies are £30-70 depending on whether you can get one off eBay/for-sale section.
Best of luck!

Re: wiring up a new engine
1.9 or 2.1 makes a difference with loom. 85 so presumable 1.9 carb so much easier
