Renewing Gearbox oils petrol Syncro - Same as non-Syncro?

Post by Mickyfin »

I have been looking around the forums, and of course the wiki which details the gearbox oil change in great detail, but only covers the one box, so was wondering if anyone had any info, links, pictures of the procedure on a Syncro 1.9 Petrol please? If the procedure is the same as in the wiki, please also confirm, and I will print it out for reference.

Thanks :ok

Ok, blonde moment, was looking on Syncronauts for "Gearbox", no wonder I couldn't find it, its listed under Transaxle

Also, its 80W/90, and not 75/W90, so glad I checked!

If you still have the owners handbook for your Syncro there is a little section that deals with gearbox oil changes. You would be very suprised what it says!

I wasn't having a dig at you :D
It's a similar hot topic to decouplers. Petrol vs diesel
It's a relatively easy process, fill point is near drive shaft on passenger side (LHD)
Make sure its not Siezed before you drain. I used 75 90 gl4/5
Good luck!
