Advice on Autosleeper project

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I've only just caught up on these posts as I've been out in the van having a nose about.

I tried taking the fridge out Kev. I took the panel off at the front and could see all the piping for the gas etc and thought I'd look elsewhere first to see what else I might try. I don't fancy fiddling with any gas works if I can avoid it.

On the subject of removing the cupboards, you will have to unattached the wardrobe and bed

By chance Andy, the wardrobe at the back was the only part I managed to remove tonight. I'll have a look at removing the bed on Friday when I'm off work and see how I get on then.

The whole side unit will come out in one, but you have to find all the screws to do this.

That would be great. Finding those damn screws is a nightmare though.

Actually I only need to move the cupboards away from the side of the van enough to be able to remove the lining of the van.

What seemed like a fairly big job is gradually getting bigger and bigger

For a plan B I'm wondering if it might be worth cutting the lining just above the line of the cupboards and then removing them that way, i.e. leaving the lining that is below the cupboard line where it is? When I put them back in I can apply a bead of white mastic to tidy it up after. I'd rather not do that though. Just a thought. Mind you cutting that lining isn't going to be easy either. It's actually fibre glass. Any suggestions on what is the best way to cut it if I do have to go that route? I tried to cut a bit with my stanley knife that was hidden away behind the wardrobe and there's no way that is going to work.

I didnt need to use string, without the bead the window falls out and in.

Kev, did you attach the rubber seal to the window frame of the van first and then pop the glass into the rubber seal, or did you put the rubber seal on the glass and then put both into the van that way?

Hi Guys,

Project is coming along.... slowly but surely thanks to the good advice I've got here.

In the end, everything had to come out!!

Now we're in the middle of putting everything back in and need some help with the carpeting of the side boxes. I've shown the sideboxes stripped of the old carpet in the pictures in the above link. Could anyone recreate these camera angles so we can see how to carpet the end of the boxes?
