Interior Lining carpet - how much do I need?

Post by New Kentish Campers »

I've spoken to a couple of firms this morning that supply lining carpet and I asked how much do I need, bearing in mind they say that they trim all things VW; to do a] the roof headlining, up to the stock VW cab one - its got a pop top that I'm leaving alone, then using the same colour down the side window pillars. B] Next colour to trim the tailgate card, the n/s/r inner qtr card, and then the card on the sliding door. C] The last colour to trim the engine flap & load ares, following down to where it meets the floor. Then I wanted to trim the two seat boxes.

First firm reckons I need [ this stuff is 2 mtrs wide by the way ] 6 mtrs, 5 and 3 respectively, the other one reckons I need 8, 6 and 4. With adhesive, that lot tops out to £165.00 to £130.00 depending on whose advice I take! Its not so much the cost, but more the hassle of having to re-order more or have too much left over :(

I could of course go and measure it but I'm none too good at working out sq metres/feet so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has trimmed their van out and knows how much they bought, could they can share that with me please.

:ok

The interior measurements are here:

https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Sc ... easurments" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

to work out the square metres, you just do height x length so as per the T25 interior load space dimensions: so 1.46 height x 2.78 length = 4.05
I reckon that you need this x2 for the sides, probably once more for the roof, and the seat bases etc if you are doing these.

Its a guess....but I reckon 15sq metres should do it comfortably :ok
