Running unleaded fuel

Post by Dave Buckley »

Can anyone help, I have been runnimg my 1.9DG now for about 16years, all this time I have been adding castrol addative to the unleaded fuel. Someone has suggested that I should not have to add this since the engine will be OK without, can anyone advise should I use addative or not since its now quite expensive-Thanks Dave

Thanks for the feedback guys, wish it was that easy kev, I suppose on the positive side it didn't cause any harm. Anyway just about to start the 3week trip to Italy so the saving will buy a few more gallons -thanks :D

How about 2.0 CU engine ? Do u need to add the additive to one of these ?

I was, then I stopped...but some one told me I should continue adding the additive just in case ??

All new VW heads made during the latter years of the beetle could handle unleaded and everything after that including the T25.
