I'm not a huge fan of gas but there's loads of room in a doka. I'd concider it if I was you.

Re: syncro swap?? how much??
By the way. Reason I'm saying go gas is because I'm just coming to the end of a petrol to mtdi conversion. To do it properly it ain't cheap.

^whs....a fuel efficienter syncro awaits and with a lot less effort than swapping/tdi'ing etc

Re: syncro swap?? how much??
If LPG is too much forget about converting to diesel. Start adding up the parts you need. Fuel tank, bell housing, sump, mounts the list is endless. If you find a complete jx then a simple install could be possible but if you are going to all the trouble to convert then you will want to go Tdi or at least a good aaz. If you go Tdi budget for a gearbox rebuild also. I've started throwing my receipts in the bin as the costs have gone up. Lol.
What mudlark means is LPG is a much simpler and cost effective way of reducing you fuel costs.

Re: syncro swap?? how much??
If you think £1200 quid on an propper LPG install is too much then you are not going to get anywhere near with a TD conversion, let alone a TDi etc...
