Depends what you are wanting to buy, but this is certainly worth a look before you go to JustKampers

Salut ladyna.

A few bits and pieces of info

You should try the private schools with the qualifications you have got. What degree have you got? Master en langues? if yes, you'll still need a teaching qualification in Scotland (no idea as far as England is concerned) Basically a relatively easy year in uni. That gets you a job sort of part time up here for a year before you can start hunting for a full time post.

There are jobs in IT. Register on linkedin and post a profile if you havent done it already. That's the hub for the pros in the business.
What are your qualifications in IT? The majority of jobs, developers, rdbms, analists, designers, etc tend to be in the big towns...Do you really want a life in Manchester or Glasgow?

I certainly dont want to make this look bleak. I left France in 1982 with little more than 200 quid and have never looked back. My degree in Linguistics got me nofregenwhere and I ended up working 24/7 on shifts in a distillery. Made money, got a house, a wife, two kids and pneumonia.
So it is possible, but you need a plan.

The T3 community is quite vibrant in England it seems, not so much up North. (York is 7 hours south for us!)

Your vehicle needs to be imported if you spend more than 6 months in the UK in any period of 12 months....Going back to France for a month wont do. The customs nailed me on that one and forced me to import my acadiane in 1984.

If you stay here for a while, get in touch with your local NHS GP (toubib). Dont wait till something goes wrong.
One of the advantages of working here is the lack of paperwork. No 400 page folder to fill at the end of the tax year unless you are self employed.

Bon...si tu passe en écosse, n'oublie pas de venir prendre un pot. La porte est ouverte. On attends un contingent de T3 en été 2012.

a+

PS, we had a member who lived in a T3 down brighton way. Sealover. Check her up on T3Zone to see if she is still teaching down there..

I've been following this thread and realise that Ladyna hasn't been heard of for over a week. Hope she's OK and getting on alright...
