got a little bit done over the weekend
found an EVA camping mat in the shed so decided to cut it up and stick strips on the floor for a bit of extra warmth/sound deadening





then put the floor back on and rough cut the vinyl flooring to approx fit until I can sort out properly this week (stupidly put the very heavy welder on the floor to pop out and stuck a little divot in it already....wasnt happy)



gave the bed a rub down and applied the 2nd coat of rustoleum - starting to look a million times better than the tired brown plastic that was on it. should be able to get another coat on it tonight.

One question (I know nothing about interiors)... You've done vinyl over the ply. Why not just the ply, with some kind of mega-coating?

Mine has lino over ply, and as Kev says it easier to keep clean,/replace if damaged and nicer under bare feet

I was banking on this but Ive already stuck 3 divots in it and it's supposed to be super hardwaring witha 10 year gaurantee! so im thinking about something else....any suggestions?
dont want vinyl tiles or laminate flooring (unless anyone knows of a light version!

My lino is straight onto the wood floor underneath, so is completely flat, with yours being onto the raised rubber mat I think thats why its so easily damaged.

I personally would keep the lino but loose the strips underneath.

the lino is straight onto 14mm ply - the eva strips and thermawrap is under the ply so it is nice and straight.

the lino I got was quite spongy - wonder if I went for a cheaper thinner one it wouldnt have so much give in it?

not got a lot done lately, took apart the units to make templates but not cut out yet
had linig carpet from megavan mats delivered - impressed with the quality, only managed to do a small board to fit on the back section of bed frame so far but everything is striped ready to put it on



at least nights are light now to get stuff done after work!

interested as to how you got the plastic coating off the bed frame as mine is brown aswell and doesn't match my red/grey interior
looking good btw and same colours (red/cream) as mines going back to just got the RAL3020 rustoleum today

yorkierob.........took me f****** ages to get it all off!!

some just peeled of but the rest I had a wire brush attachment on my drill - you need to keep changing direction of the drill every 10-15 mins as it doesnt take as much off after a while.
Ive still got the back of the bed to do, keep making excuses not to do it

make sure you wear a mask as well

3 coats of rustoleum follwed by 3 coats of lacquer
ive cleaned up and resprayed the hinges too and im chuffed with how its all come out

didnt get a great deal done over the weekend - done a LITTLE bit more lining on the curvey bed bit. also managed to remove all of the roof lining - mucky dusty job, discovered a small leak somewhere so currently trying to find the source!!!
hoping to get a lot more done this week - had a few slow weeks lately and camping seasons a coming!!!!
