Re: Electrical Hook-up under camper ?
Mine is under the body and I can confirm it is a right pain in the perverbiales being there, not nice kneeling down in the wet to plug it in, so I am moving mine, some great suggestions on this thread, like the oil flap idea, but most likely to fit one directly on the side.

Re: Electrical Hook-up under camper ?
i have mine under the van on the rear chassis leg what is probably the thickest and strongest steel on the van , and i have not had to cut any holes in side of van bodywork doing so, all i have done is drill 2 holes and use 2 nut inserts to hold the connector in place with 2 stainless screws so no rust there , and you can get behind panel to waxoil to protect even further, theres less than an inch of wire cable visible under van , and cable is easily taken into the van under the rear seat area without any holes being drilled, this is then connected up to my control unit under my rear seat which is then screwed to a allloy bracket which is then fastened to floor with silicon sealant so again no holes drilled,

I cannot think of a worse place to fit a the EHU, the IP rating of that connector will not cope with that environment.

Re: Electrical Hook-up under camper ?
Hello all, well having been doing a bit of re-wiring I decided to have a look at the hook up point under the van just to check it out and what I found frightened me so much I have stoppped what I was doing to post the picture. For all those who have hook ups under your van check them please and ensure they are water tight and the connections are good. If you look carefully at the photos you can see the ends are corroded and more worrying what looks like a weld mark on the screw holding the live wire in, which is where it has been arcing!!!! hopefully the site you are pluging into will have protection but not always? Important to remember the hook up is prior to your consumer unit so no protection from your RCD. This will not be going back on and I will be going for a replacement on the outside in a case like the westie ones. So please check yours out, be safe out there. Poops
