Re: Hand brake cable
Oh its not a shame.
Other projects and deadlines have pulled resources at work.
The big bug bear will be the hard plastic guide bush, awkward shape & design. Moulding tools will cost a fortune and would have to be outsourced.
We can make the cables complete with ends in no time at all. The expense will come with the guide, cost may then become the prohibitive factor unless someone can firm up a large order.

That's why Brickwerks re-manufactured the cable without the guide (re-use the original)paul66beetle wrote:The big bug bear will be the hard plastic guide bush, awkward shape & design. Moulding tools will cost a fortune and would have to be outsourced.

It can be done, just need a firm order and hey presto. Cables we can manufacture straight away without the guide at a very competitive price as its all drawn up in CAD and all the parts are here.
Re: Hand brake cable
Maybe you could get together with Brickwerks and supply the cables with the guides already on?
Re: Hand brake cable
on the original topic
you will find the original cbles wont strecth that much , in fact next to nothing.
no adjustment available will just mean poorly adjusted brakes.
slacken the adjusting nut on the front cable all the way.
you then need to make sure the drums and shoes are within the wear limits.
check the brake fitting parts also for wear and correct fittment.
fit the drums and adjust the shoes through the hole in the back plate
pump the brake pedal and re adjust an needed.
tighten the cable adjuster to the required click.
i have very good used cables and when matched to my nos one showed no signs of wear. the adjuster will take up more 'stretch' than the cable will be able to do.
