Before you commit to any of those ebay.de items check with the seller that they will post to UK.
They are all tagged as shipped to Germany only.

Thanks Peasant, those lovely piccies saved alot of words!
Whether that is it or not is difficult to say.
If you have a non-std filter, what other strange things have been done to the engine...
It does sound like you may not be getting full throttle, have you checked that the fuel lever is moving right around against its stop when someone in cab put pedal to metal?

Indeed ..the wire for the accelerator might have slipped out at the base of the accelerator pedal ...they have a habit of doing that

Will the Airbox make that much difference .....
this however goes into a turbo diesel

spot the difference?
I think that's your problem right there ...wrong air intake (air box)
That big barrel on the left with the yellow sticker ...that's the air box you need

and here is where you could get one ...choice of three for under 20 Euro

I'll post a pic of my engine bay when i get home and see what you think and dig out the paperwork from the company that installed the new engine ....
Engine bay photo is good ,but i don't know how to publish on here ????
...got invoice out for the re-con ...It wasn't a re-con ,but a re-build at 83k ,so it's done about 6k in 3 years. done by south london engineering.

So, No. 1's
You're getting full movement of the fuel lever (hope it doesn't look like its been off the splines )
The turbo is boosting (at least say 1/2 bar, 7.5 psi)
Does it black smoke when you floor it - or not ?

No smoke of any kind?
Not enough fuel? They nearly always will black smoke a bit (MOT rev-up) test and particularly under full load on the road...
I mentioned the LDA unit before, wonder whether this has broken (known problem, JX pump different than most others, due to LDA being laid on side, height restriction in T25)
Check the LDA IS being fed boost pressure and that this small-bore pipe isn't leaking

Re: 1.6TD tune up help please (& importance of TD air filters!)
I'll get the wife to have a look for smoke when driving behind me this weekend and i'll try the rev-up and see what happens harry...
I'm afraid that i'm not really that engine friendly, but wish i was ...I'm going to take all the things you've mentioned in my thread and when i've got the airbox changed back to the original type when i get one get a good garage to take a look for me ...(unless your about in Kent sometime and want to make some extra cash Harry)..
worth an ask i suppose ..
I would post the engine bay pic ,but can't seem to figure how to do this ,as it doesn't look quite the same as the pic posted in this thread by peasant..I must be a blonde

you have to upload your picture to one of those free hosting sites (imageshack for example) and then copy the link into here and wrap the Img tags around it (see button above)
