Thanks Rob, I'll shut it off in the future – didn't realise that might cause a problem.

Van is level ish – it's on a slight angle, lower a tad at the back.

Have you ever had it working on gas?

Thought mine wasn't working as I couldn't see flame, hear anything, etc but as it turned out the fridge was quiet and even though flame couldn't be seen it was on and within 10mn of patience realised it was getting cold.

Also, don't hold the button to 3 all the time. Press it down for 5 seconds let go but keep it on 3 and trying igniting.

Dont matter wether the van is level or not, cooling is lack of gas is the problem here not lack of cooling, It would seem that as you have gas running other things then gas you have just not where you want it,
The button has to be held in for the purpose of lighting it as you know, but no puff of flame = no gas go talk with Steve. Oh and borrow your good ladies compact/mirror and hold that down no need to hug the bog. :)
