Some people just use a regular car battery but the problem with those is that they don't take kindly to being run down and recharged all the time so ideally you need a battery that can cope with deep discharge cycles. If you're running a radio with a CD it will discharge a normal battery after a number of hours so you'd be better off with a proper leisure battery. Id suggest going for the biggest capacity you can afford and will fit – any of the batteries mentioned here will be fine. The Platinum looks good for the size.

It is a good battery, I had one in my Autohomes, but wouldnt fit under seat so had to rewire and put in cupboard

Humm was it the height that was a problem? Did it not fit by much?

I still have my 2 100 aH Elecsols both going strong - and one still fits under the passenger seat !

Great, thanks for the link to the pictures, same as my main van battery then, I'll be making a custom lid for that. If only they'd made those battery bays 10mm deeper. I s'pose batteries were smaller 30 years ago!
