Fuel Hose sizes

Post by rugchucker »

Folks
I'm just thinking of replacing my fuel hoses. My van is a 1980 Aircooled and my question is:

What size hose do I need to order. I am looking to replace from tank all the way to the carbs.

Are they all the same size?

Where is the best place to order from?

I have checked the wicki and that has left me a bit confused as,while saying change them if in doubt, it doesnt say what size hose I should be ordering?

Well hope you can help,we are off to France on the 21st May and would like to have changed them before we go

Hi Cov
I did check the wiki 1st. The only info it doesnt give is the size of the hose. Surely as this is a highlighted safety issue others have changed these hoses and know the size (diameter) of the hose needed.

tank to fule filter is 7mm
breathers and all other fuel hoses is 5.5mm But.. you may only find 5.6mm fuel injection hose at your local good motorfactors.. I use 5.6mm its fine..

For any fuel line connections do use the correct "fuel hose clips" NOT ordinary jubilee/hose clips... not needed on the breathers..
