Re: Alternative seats
I put Jaguar XJS seats in mine. The ones from the mid 90s are best, really comfy and you don't sit too high up. Ideal if fitting to swivel seat bases.

Re: Alternative seats
i`ve done nissan bluebird, old rover 800 and new rover recaro`s. all were easy to fit. did need to use the welder though on the frames.
Re: Alternative seats
just fitted some old rover 400 seats to my van passenger side was easy as i removed the swivel base from the van and welded straight to it then bolted it back in. drivers side a little more difficult but eventually decided to remove original runners and bolt in the rover seat. little tricky on the inside but if you employ some child labour they can get their hand in the small gap. by removing the original runners you don't gain any extra height which is handy as the missus is only 4'10"

if in doubt use a bigger hammer, if that fails swear louder and longer

Re: Alternative seats
I've seen some BADLY fitted seats too. The worst I came across was rover seats welded to the floorpan and heater channels of a Beetle. I'd like to ring the neck of the moron that fitted those. I've also seen feeble attachments that in an emergency situation would have caused the seats to rip from their mountings, making the seatbelts a total waste of time. Its important to remember that the security of seat mountings are actually as important as brakes - possibly more so.

Re: Alternative seats
Fitted Saab 9000 heated leather seats in mine...picked up the seat heater controls from fleabay, doddle to wire in and nice toasty backside on a frosty morning...!
Seats cost me £95 from a garage in Derby via fleabay.
