Camping in Cornwall

Hi everyone,
Can anyone recommend a campsite just inland from St Agnes? Last year we stayed at a great campsite called Blue Hills, unfortunately we found the site quite exposed to the Atlantic wind and rain! We would like to return to the Atlantic coastline again but would prefer a (dog friendly) campsite with a little more shelter from that wind and rain!

Jeds spot on. Haven't personnally stayed there but know many who have camped and they all agree with Jed. Like the other thread re cost of camping in Cornwall these days, the cost generally reflects the location and the facilities on the site. That stretch of coast from Crantock to St Ives is pretty stunning. If you fancy the south coast, check out the sites around Kennack Sands on the Lizard. This is a really unspoilt area and a beautiful place to spend a few days - remarkably lmore ike Brittany than anywhere else in Cornwall.

Hi and thanks for all the info. Jed can you tell me how sheltered/exposed, size and gradient of the presingoll farm site ( e.g. is it divided up into small fields, number of pitches etc ?) I could not find this info on their web site?

We stayed at Kelynack Campsite last summer, which is a bit futher south that St Agnes. But its in a beautiful part of cornwall. The facilities were 100%, some of the cleanest I have ever seen!!!! Its near some of the nicest beaches, and they take dogs.

As for shelter, as its actually a few miles from the coast its not as exposed as some of the more costal campsites. But its only 5 - 10 mins drive to Sennen Cove. There is plenty of trees surrounding the site and the EHU are around around the edge of the site so you get quite alot of shelter from trees / dry stone walls depending where you are pitched.

Friendly site, but can get busy - espcially over bank holidays! Walking distance of some nice pubs and excellent fish and chips!
