DG - Going from carb to injection?

Post by silverbullet »

New one has 1.9 DG - is it worth even thinking of upgrading it to injection or looking for a full set-up before going on LPG or just leave well alone and put a gas kit straight on the carb?

Cheers for that. I'll leave it alone as it does go well :D
No news despite my repeated asking - I reckon they don't fancy it. I do have another outfit who might be more interested, so I'll have another go there. They are local (ish) and we've had some lovely work from them.

From a 2.1? Good mileage?
I don't want to go buying US 1.9 fi stuff as there'll be no spares about this side of the pond...

Talk to the Guys at the VWSpeedshop, they developed a decent mappable FI system for the boxer motor last year, we designed the LPG manifold for them so they could use LPG directly and through the same ECU, its not cheap mind

Ta Steve, I'll have a look. This is supposed to be a reliable runabout for the missus :rofl while I continue to sort out the troublesome Microbru (tm) ...

Rebiuld the carb and fit the lpg.. fitting a DJ fi setup can cause a lot of headaches as you are using 20 year old parts.. so unless you really want to spend loads on an aftermarket setup it doesnt make sense..
