Yep. Simple enough for me to do and write a wiki article on it, so anyone can do it :ok

I have the right model late van and removed the little white bit and the part number from the wiki but GSF could't find one. Any ideas?

Yes it would, but it won't work on vans with factory fitted front foglights, as relay socket 7 will already be ocupied for its intended perpouse.

Just remember if you do the above and you want to park with the sizelights on (which is what they are for, not driving in heavy rain like everyone with grey hair seems to think - they won't make you visable, and its actully ilegal) unless you leave the keys in it'll be constantly worbleing at you, have to keep pulling the relay. All you need to do is wire terminal 85 to the door switch wire and it'll only work when the doors open, a bit of extra wireing but the devil is in the detail. If your going that far its even better to use a '36' relay from a mid 90's VAG car as they make a more tolerable buzz noise instead of a two tone scream (which is almost as bad as the ones you get in french cars). If you want to get really excited with random relays, 90's fords have an intereour light delay relay thats a good mod - lights stay on for 20sec after the door is closed or untill the ignition is turned on, easy to add at the same time as the 36 buzzer as you need the same wires.

Think I've got some 99 relays kicking around if anyones after one. Usally do them for £5 posted. I might have a '292', '36' and french buzzer, I'll have a look if anyones interested.

has any one actually tried the 36 relay? which hole does it go in?

i have had no sucess with it , but perhaps thats me.
36 relays are not a problem to get hold of , just could not get them to work on my van!

Yes it would,

ummm beg to differ....I can leave the PARKING LIGHTS (controlled by indicator) on and it doesn't warble. I actually like the buzzer...the noise makes me turn off the lights pronto.

what didnt work?

buzzer will only work if 99 relay fitted , not 19

only twicw has the intermittent conversion failes , this both times turned out to be wiper switch , cleand contacts (even though had never been used ) then all ok.

Fitted the intermittant relay wiper mod to my '85 transporter. Amazing that it wasn't standard given the minimal cost and simplicity!

The headlap mod is on the list for this spring (along with about a million other things!) :)
