I've stripped down the shafts and CV joints which were a bit battered (I've seen worse). I picked up the replacement parts today and fitted them onto the shaft, however, I noticed that the inner race is not as wide as it's predecessor and there was about 3mm of float along the spline. What the? The kit did come with a splined bevellle washer, so is this used to take up some of the float either behind or in front of the CV joint? So much for getting the motor back on the road tonight.

I thought the bevelle washers were only used on Syncros?
Any help appreciated as I'm keen to get my wheels back on the road.
