Mind you, you could turn on the gas ring for initial warm up too. Does steam up windows though

Re: cab heating
The fan blower will be ok for initial warm up (providing your battery is in A1 condition) but looks like Propex is only real answer.

Re: cab heating
This is the 21st century, you should not be cold in your van
No Kev, but esp. when young and healthy, its good for circulation in later life, so we're told
I remember seeing the thermometer hovering around 40 F (that means Fahrenheit, IIRC) at Christmas in our back room when ar was alad
It wasn't anything I thought was enjoyable at the time though
PS. Still have that old bakelite room thermometer, just to remind me

Re: cab heating
Thanks for all the advice trying to solve the problem relatively cheaply, have two brand new batteries that i got for free, they are the silver model that you get with ford transit connects 75ah i think. one as a leisure and one main, just serviced my alternator but being a 1.6 ct pretty sure it ain't 90 amp, oh well we will see should be here in a couple of days. If i insulate as well and give the heater a blast every now and again it could solve my problem....starting to get cold in north devon..

I think if you read back, it was said you need about 1 to 2kw or do much good in that van, that's what the normal heater matrixes are rated at, and can be a lot more.

I think you swallowed the hype mate
300 watts is no more than a security light bulb.
Another fella on here did the same, so your not the first.
save your money up and get a propex.

Re: cab heating
The lad who I bought my van off had one of these. He offered to give it me when I bought the van. After a quick search of the house he remembered he'd binned it coz it was an absolute waste of time. The only way to do it properly is to go down the Webasto / Eberspacher / Propex route I'm afraid. Expensive maybe, but you'll never look back.kevtherev wrote:stephen t25 wrote:Hi all.. fitted the unit no probs, it all works but does not seem to be that hot(300watts) have heard testimonials about this heater and they are all good, do you think it ain't getting enough power ie crappy alternator . your help would be much appreciated
