I thought that turbos had a "pull" not "push" clutch? Or is that Imprezas not Legacys?
Yours is clearly a push type so I would go for a faulty slave. Siezed?
Had one go on another car years back that pumped up and bent the clutch release arm!

the subaru is a pull to release. however im using a TSR racing adapter plate which uses all vw parts so the clutch is a "push"
The brake pedal is also stiff so i'll look at the master today.

looking good!!! I used a TSR adapter plate too never had a problem in over 4 years, have you made a inlet duct yet, Iused the original one and cut and glued it and with a bit of dremmel work works brill and a lot cheaper than any shop one! What clearance do you have under it mine 150mm with standard suspension and sump?

i've got a 60mm lowered van with standard sump I think i've got 5 inches of clearance. it's shown in one of the first in the post.
For the inlet im gonna get the air from the side air vent and probably rivet a plate over the hole and cut a circular hole and fit a cone filter on the other side.
The main drama is how do i cool down the charged air?
Im probably gonna put a bonnet scoop on the right side of the van and duct air to the intercooler and have a fan sat on it too.

Charge cool it as per original. Get a thin radiator up front (there's space in front of the main rad where the aircon condenser would be) and run the pipes down the nearside. You could probably do it with all Subaru parts. :ok

I have a scooby turbo charge cooler and rad if required, but no circulation pump cos Mike Ghia borrowed it and killed it on his 2.5TDi install, a new pump from pace works though.

hi aidan
Does the charge cooler have two inlets?
ive got a pace intercooler but I would need to rig up an adapter box as the original "up pipes" have to be used as they have a shut off valve to stop pressurised air going the wrong way down the second turbo.
or I could use the intercooler as an adapter and run the charge cooler after and extend some pipes.
I've seen adapter boxes made up for guys who do fmic on subarus.

Yeah that chargecooler would be no good as i would still need to fabricate an adapter box.

I built my throttle cable reversal bracket yesterday so things are moving on slowly.

Try Porsche CV joints as they are stronger. Good luck with your gearbox roulete!

944 turbo & s2 are same dia as ours but fractionally deeper and larger angle of articulation, they are sold new by Baxter and most of the syncro specialists, tend to make fair money second hand on ebay cos the early 924/944 users also upgrade to them

I finally started to fabricate the exhaust tonight. it's gonna be a straight system with no cat or pre cat!!! with a bike can at the end. should sound nice. Both exhausts are gonna join just over the gearbox into a y-piece. i was originally going to have one pipe either side of the van, so that when the turbos switch over the exhaust would change from left to right. But I have since decided against this mainly do to time (i just want to get it finished now)
Clutch slave pipe is still an issue getting union bolts and pipe joiners is a nightmare and expensive.

i'll add more pics soon.
