Looks like the sill is part of the failure. Thats not uncommon and we did mine a couple of months ago, dispensing with it and welding higher up the side to the first crease line. You could do even that after a 10 week mig course.

When you see it cut away like that (and why we took the photos) you can see how its constructed and how it all fits together. I think we actually improved on the design of that side during the repairs. The rest is plating and maybe a new arch or two.
