Spot welds
Hi all how easy or hard ? is it to unpick the spot welds on the body panels cheers

its a lot easier with a spot weld remover drill

What Rob said but, if you find that there are just too many them there are other ways, e.g. a flange. I cut the panel away to leave the spot sections and cut through either side of the spot with a hacksaw or fine cutting wheel. These sections between the spots can be lifted away and you will be left with small raised sections that are spot welded, these can easily be ground away using an angle grinder with orbital linishing disc.

Probaly as good as any other.
When you put the panels back you can drill holes and spot them through with a mig. If you are making your own panels you can joddle edges on them and most joddlers have a punch on them to make the holes for spotting.

A Joddler/punch is a must have tool for welding IMO and well worth the investment of around £40-00 (avalable from places like Machine Mart).
