is this from a t25?

Post by mr_clarkson »

Hi, sorry for YET ANOTHER question, but i think this may be the key to the problems i have with my auto box, unable to find an auto box so far i decided to have a little look on german ebay, and i came across the following, and would like conformation that this is definatly from a T3.......It looks the same as mine but there is one MAJOR differance, on the following item, there are THREE shafts coming from the center of the gearbox, on mine there are only TWO!!!! so i am thinking this ould be the problem!

what i would really like to know is......

1 - is this off a T3? (my german is non existant)

2 - what does this smaller center shaft do? im sure i didnt notice where it would go in the torque converter!!

heres the link.....

It's from a 2ltr air cooled, you will have the centre shaft it drives the gearbox oil pump.

The outer shaft is the input drive shaft, one part fits into the torque converter the other bit fits into the torque converter one way clutch. Try VW for the oil pump shaft still listed as available.

Have you tried vw in germany? (usually not much more delivered than VW UK price) I got a UK obselete inner sill from them with no trouble at all

See the wiki by phade for details
