Hi, in the picture below can somebody tell me what the doughnut shaped rubbery thing is? Also what is the long metaly thing that it is on called? Also is the fact it is obviously cracked and perishing a huge worry?

Brilliant - radius thingy and bushes, rather than metally and rubbery thingy!
Can anybody advise - is it the sort of thing I should change myself? I see the parts are cheap on VW Heritage, so what do you think? Don't want to spend another 50 quid at the garage!
Cheers!

It's an early stylee radius arm so I'd advise you spend the £50 and get the (very cheap) bushes replaced properly ... some things just aren't worth struggling with on your drive.

Em, I might make that my new signature.
It's the best description that I have come across.
