FUEL TANK REMOVAL
hi all, my dad needs to replace the sender unit in the fuel tank and thinks its a hard job, so his plan is to cut a hole in the floor to gain easy acess.
so my question is, is it a ball ache to remove the tank like he has been told?

Seems a bit drastic to cut a hole in the floor for a job you're probably only going to do once. Besides, good opportunity to check tank generally.

FUEL TANK REMOVAL
Just done mine for the 1st time, using Wiki as a guide. It's pretty simple really, ( I managed it) I'd give it 2 out of 5 spanners
It took 2/3 hours all going well and as you've guessed a fair bit of that on your back on your favourite bit of carpet.

Well my tank is pretty weathered on the outside, whilst its out should i seal the inside? Ive only just taken it out and havent looked on the inside as yet, but i do know all the fuel pipes will need to be replaced.

Re: FUEL TANK REMOVAL
Having taken my fuel tank out 2 or 3 times now in as many months ( currently to do some welding around the filler cap area) it's a straight forward job.
The only ball ache is what you might find when you drop it.
