fair enough!

i just wanted to highlight that running a 195 55 r15 tyre will result in a diameter that's different from stock.
going by the tyre calc thing, the speedo will over read by about 9% , and as most speedo's over read anyway, it'll make it worse. probably.

suppose you'd be less likely to get done for speeding though, eh?

thanks for your replies ;) positive or not  anyway got them back today and the pictures do not do them any justice they are like bloody brand new :D a far as im aware they have come from anoher bus from australia so the original origin is unknown... i havent taken the tyres off as yet, but have offered them up and fitted them whilst its up on axle stands they're running 215/70/15's on one side and a pi$$ poor 205/70/15 on the other which imo is way to narrow for the wheel but the 215 fits more snug giving you the correct look and looks like a better clearance on the outer arch. Which luckily for me so far seems to be to clear of any potential fowling or rubbing (on that note ive noticed a 45/70 mark on the rear springs so im assuming that that means the springs are 45mm on the rear and 70mm on the fronts :???:) As for the sliding door its fine the lip of the rim/ tyre doesn't exceed the outer section of the arch which means its street legal :D
I will be getting the tyres removed soon to inspect how they have been constructed and how well and alsoto have them powder coated in most likely pure white... With regards to running them we're not talking a heavy weight westy with a massive pop top ten ton of furniture and a fridge its just a standard stripped out danbury Aircooled 2.0ltr not weighing enough to worry about... IMO its just as bad as running second hand wheel stud conversion kits or some roppy fleabay ones... They are absolutley fine for this van... Actually better nick than the orginal rusty old ones :P

I get some piccies as soon as its back on the deck for all to see :ok

im glad your happy with em, i still dont get the weight argument tho, as your van still weighs a fair chunk to be on some cut and shut rims regardless if its a westy or otherwise. i wouldnt trust the lives of my loved ones with some hacked about wheels.
they may look better than your existing ones ....BUT your existing ones haven't been sliced in half and had bits of metal bodged in!!!
please for your own piece of mind check if your insurance company are happy with you running on em, i doubt very much they would be.....

the last thing you want is a bump and they refuse to cough up.
not trying to pee on your parade but simply to ensure you are safe. :ok
