how do i fit swivel bases bolt in type

Post by spaceboy1 »

Hi there folks

just purchased bolt in swivel seat base, was wondering how do you fit these, do you have to drill holes in, do you have to remove the original runners from the van?

anyone know how to tell if they are indeed bolt in type and how i go about fitting
any help would be good, not sure how to fit or these are the right ones.

thanks in advance

best regards
spaceboy

From the rear you can slide M8 nylocs (blue ring side down) along the inside of the runners and using countersunk M8 screws bolt in it place. Original Westy ones should have the nuts captive on steel strips.

Looks the same as mine have taken some photos for you.

Bit tricky a bolt on each corner, with the nut under the runner. Holes are already there.

Kev do you bolt it on top of the original runners do you slide a locking nut inside the runners and bolt into?
did you have to drill anything ? i cant seem to see where to bolt it into, i will have a look at this at the weekend.

Thankyou to Ian hulley its begining to make some sense now

Top tip ^^^^^

Yup they bolt on top of the original runners, With a bit of practice you might get a locking nut on I used locking washer.

I didn't have to drill, Once the seat is off you should see the holes. The nuts slide down the inside of the runers tricky bit is ligning them up.
