knocking when turning left ?
Hi - wonder if anyone can help here - my van has just started knocking a little if im making a tight left turn, usually when coming off a roundabout etc.
Am i right in thinking this is a CV joint that is worn ? is it possible it could have lost some grease or is the option to replace the CV joint, and if so - is it ok to source a new drivesahft from a scrapyard or is a new Cv on the cards ?
Is there any tests i can do to figure out where the problem is ? After reading some posts on the internet, im assuming the problem is with the right hand side, allthough im not sure how to confirm this.
Cheers

if it is in early stages, just pop under the back, and "wiggle" the drive shaft from left to right, (gearbox to wheel) a few times, one shaft at a time, driving between times, redistributes the grease, and stops the noise if it is that.....
drove mine for 60k miles like that, finally replaced the drive shaft last week after it refused to stop clanking, even in a straight line

Clunking
outers only last , sometimes, 70K, so they are expendable.
inners last longer.
But are easy and cheap to repair from GSF etc., if you are a DIYer
amazing how hub nuts are loose on some but are 250ft lbs on others?

Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
