Once I get my van serviced & checked over for it's MOT in early May
I will have to start thinking about security.Does anyone actually supply one of the large round steering wheel cover type immobilisers big enough
to fit a T25 steering wheel? :?:
I will also have to look into fitting an alarm/ immobiliser.I have also
considered black tinted windows as mentioned by Robs T25 but when I
searched the net I couldn't find one place in the NW of England. :!:
The only company advertising is one with branches in Swindon, Bath &
Maidenhead, all too far away from where I live.
If anyone knows of a reputable company doing tinted windows anywhere in the Bolton,Wigan or Manchester areas please post a reply. :D :D

hi mate i got the film tint myself 3 rolls from local car shop at £10 each done it myself not a hard job just gotta have patients and take your time mine aint perfect by no means but a damn site better than some DIY jobs you will get instructions with the tint
as for those round steering wheel locks i have one that is a long bar and sort of grips the wheel been shown how the tea leaves take them of but it does make them think twice as its another obsticle for them little scrots to get around some one said about an isolator switch for the battery brilliant idea will have to do that to good luck with the tint!!!

Thanks for your advice on the tints.At the moment the off-side rear window (behind the little wardrobe) is frosted glass but the middle window on each side plus the nearside rear all have net curtains as well as proper ones. My ex-wife always called net curtains ''Mind your own business curtains''! :D

I have nightmares about someone messing with my van so I spent the best part of 300 quid on a Cat 1 Insurance Approved total closure alarm from Lasetr Line. There are alot of different products on the market and I did quite alot of digging before I opted for this one. It has a lifetime guarantee and any bits that go wrong are replaced with no hassle, this is what I was told anyway by a freind who's mate is an authorised dealer for Laser Line.

I know it seems like £300.00 dead money and it could by lots of shiney things but when something like this happens you'd wished you had got one fitted.

Had an old Volvo once, nothing worth stealing, so once they got in it they just wrecked everything and nicked all the caps (water, oil, brake fluid etc) from under the bonnet. Think it's the toe rags way of saying thanks for having nothing for them to nick.

just went to local vag van centre to look at new caravelle in its brochure they do a special window film athat goes on all the windows that wont let the glass shatter into littles pieces therefore safer in an accident and prevents people breaking in through glass

they also sell a longarm steering lock
Now running and fixing

With heavy chain c Chain the cab doors together, via the handles and steering wheel. Then a fitted deadbolt on the slide and back could well be cost effective.

i'm thinking along the lines of a removable steering wheel, someone who shouldn't be, would take a look through the window, see no steering wheel he'd be wasting his time, if he got it started how's he going to get it up the road



on previous vans i've used an in line petrol tap, last time someone tried to get in they wrung off the sliding door handle :evil:
