anyone out there replaced the power steering pipes with rubber?
is it possible, whats involved. VW charge close to £200 for new ones.
any info would be appreciated.

I'll bet non-VW ones won't be cheap and I'd imagine that they'll use metric fittings, just to be very annoying.

Pirtek or Dunlop Hiflex will beat those prices easily (and the return hose will have swaged fittings)
Even better if you can catch a guy popping into the supermarket in his van at the end of the day and offer cash for a hose as a foriegner.
I used to work for these people and the commision structure is a joke.......most of the guys suplement their wages with the "back of the van cash sales"
