corroded power steering pipes

corroded power steering pipes

anyone out there replaced the power steering pipes with rubber?
is it possible, whats involved. VW charge close to £200 for new ones.
any info would be appreciated.

I'll bet non-VW ones won't be cheap and I'd imagine that they'll use metric fittings, just to be very annoying.

Try Pirtek (nationwide hose specialist).

Serve you right for having power-steering :P

Pirtek or Dunlop Hiflex will beat those prices easily (and the return hose will have swaged fittings)

Even better if you can catch a guy popping into the supermarket in his van at the end of the day and offer cash for a hose as a foriegner.

I used to work for these people and the commision structure is a joke.......most of the guys suplement their wages with the "back of the van cash sales"

Thats good to know as my pipes are a bit rusty and was hopeing i did not have to get them from Canada.
