Am thinking of replacing all the pushrod tubes on my van - does anyone rate these pre compressed tubes that you stretch out jobbies?...

I know you can get the sprung loaded tubes but am unsure where from and if these are any good either

If you've got an Aircooled '81, it will be a type 4 motor, the ebay link if for a type 1 engine which I'm sure wont fit. You dont have to take off the heads to do this job on a type 4 engine anyhow. Do a search, theres loads been posted previousl
. The whole not removeinig the heads thing is part of th reason I put the link on as those rods came witha tool for compressing and stretching the tubes - seemed a lil dodgy to me but if they work....
Exactly what i think, and I've built many early AC engines. They are hard enough to seal when compressed with heads. dropping the negine ain that much of a deal for me heck it's been in and out more times than a hockey-cockey song!
