Wipers won't park

Post by lancaster »

1988 caravelle 1915DG

What makes the wipers park ,,,,, is it the moter or a seperate relay ????
I have check the fuses and there fine. Had the problem when i bought but thought it might work with a new relay......

So have fitted a no 99 relay and removed the white wedge from the switch
but when i put the switch down it wipes but won't switch off, then on normal wipe it won't park and the screen wash keeps going till i switch it back to normal wipe....Fast speed seems to be fine
So bought a new moter and connected it to try it before taking the dash out and it does the same with the new motor also found 4 black wires connected to the wires going to the motor and no A C D E but they are not connected to anything

Thanks for looking

Sorry L but I have never fitted a 'delay' or 'intermittent' do you call them? wiper system...... but other 80-90ers have, so someone should be able to help, or try a search through the postings. It is a subject that comes up from time to time.
Mean while, if all is working, "If it aint broke......" Tape the wires up insulated from each other, and give it a try.

PS Just found this in the wiki (top of page) https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/VW ... ent_wipers :D
