engine weight
does anyone know the weight (kg) of a DG water boxer engine? looking at a secondhand engine and trying to work out shipping costs???

From recent (
) memory I would guesstimate in the region of about 70 kg (ish) for the short motor .... i.e. without ancillaries. It's more the bulk that's the handling problem in my experience and handles are few and far between.
It's moveable on your own but only if your used to lifting and with no-one in the way from A to B. Most couriers will require it to be on a pallet ... they can't 'do' over 25kg 'cos of manual handling regs and insurance.

Last time i had one couriered it was £50 palletised, but cheaper if you have a general haulier nearby, who will( or would before donkey fuel went silly(er) ) take a palletised anything as long as it is delivered to the haulage yard for £25 a pallet space, worth a ring...........
