After a long and patient search we have just bought our first T25 it's intended for our honeymoon later in the year and then for life

Been driving it for a couple of days and loving it. Apparently it has a 1.9 N/A engine, no idea of the engine mileage and particulars as the paperwork for this bit is amiss. Having driven it and inspected the engine bay I'm pretty sure it's a 1.9N/A as:
1) No turbo (although the rocker cover has a red turbo sticker on it, it was previously a 1.6TD so guess it was switched when the engine was switched)
2) Diesel
3) 65mph top speed on the flat and reasonable up hills (55mph)
4) Has a modified accelerator linkage under the engine cover
5) Uses oil like nobodies business!!!

Now to the questions...
1) Is the 1Y the only 1.9 N/A available?
2) Where can I find the engine number?
Point 5 is the main reason why I'm writing. I haven't yet had a chance to have a solid investigation into the issue but there is a good spraying of oil on the lower nearside part of the engine. My initial thoughts are that it's the crankshaft pulley oil seal, a bit of a downer really.
Now to the slightly more involved q's....
3) Is this quite likely?
4) Is it an engine out job?
5) If it is a 1Y what's the part number of the seal?
6) Could the seal be fine but the oil pressure getting too high and forcing it out?
7) If 6) is there any way to test this?
Loads of questions and due to our freshness in owning a T25 I'm sure this will be our first post of many and we will be very appreciative of anyone's help.
Kind Regards,
Mike
