tailgate fit

Post by apsule »

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

I got up on a ladder to clean up the hightop on my van today (first real chance Ive had). On getting round the back and looking from above I noticed that with the tailgate shut there is huge gap between it and the end of the roof. am guessing that this is not normal.

Is the fit adjustable? Its possible that it has been put this way deliberately when the high top was fitted but water must be getting in and I so it must be going somewhere, probably bad. The back end of my van has particular issues with rust, perhaps this is the cause. Any advise greatfully received.

cheers

Stephen

if the gap is about 1/2 an inch, its normal, and correct, the water runs down the guttering and out the bottom of the door closure, by design, on the outside of the rubber seal........ check your seal if you are getting water in......

Thanks, will check that. I thought the gap was wider than that, but that could be my memory playing up, It was certainly wider than I expected.

Thanks for your help

Stephen
